Beechwood School
The California Family Foundation felt compelled to better prepare students to exceed the 25% high school graduation rate of those coming from the local elementary school district. After much consultation with experienced educators, administrators and other concerned members of the community; Beechwood School opened its doors in September 1986.
Beechwood is a private, non-profit school of 170 students in Kinder Prep through Eighth Grade. Beechwood serves over 100 families from Menlo Park and East Palo Alto. The students’ educational efforts are guided by a highly qualified staff of 30 dedicated teachers and administrators. The Beechwood staff is supported by many volunteers from the community who contribute their time in a variety of ways.

Housing
The California Family Foundation helps low-income families work towards home ownership. The Below Market Rate Housing Program rents homes in eastern Menlo Park and East Palo Alto to families who have good credit, a growing income, are willing to perform community service every month and who are ready to be homeowners in 3 to 5 years.
Some of the foundation's homes are made available to low-income Stanford graduate students with families. Students interested in applying should call the foundation office for a special application.
